So I just looked for more information on the Internet. I found a walkthrough video where the player also needs and finds ink ribbons to save. It's played with the PC version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGLV8D_2q2o
Although, I found out, other people say that on the PC version you won't need and find ink ribbons to save with Jill.
Strange... I had ink ribbons on the first run and needed them to save the game but I don't have them when I restart a complete new game. Got "The White Label" version.

Hello, here is another thing I didn't know before concerning to Resident Evil 1 PC Version of 1997. Several months ago I reinstalled the game and finished it (with Jill). Now I started a new game and I could save on every typewriter without needing ink ribbons. Later on, it came out that I can't find any ink ribbons in the actual run. I didn't know that this is possible. :D

I saw that I saved after completing the game the first time (Save 00) but I didn't load this one. I also can't choose a difficulty on new game. I know that Jill's game is said to be easier than Chris's game because of inventory space but I know that I had ink ribbons on my first run after installing the game.
I couldn't find anything about it in the Internet.

For any RE fans out there, I would like to recommend a youtube channel called THEGAMERSHANKSTER, shankster does lets play of RE games, live streams of new RE games, weapons, melee showcases and reaction videos to anything RE related.
He also does live Q&A, I would definitely give it a watch, its a awesome channel.

Wow thanks everyone for your amazing comments, we're glad people are finding what they need from our site. And thank you all for contributing the additional locations and amendments to our data, it is much appreciated.
It is curious that Assisted mode contains those additional Wooden Boards, so we'll be sure to include this extra detail on the site ASAP!
