When you enter this area you will trigger a trap where a cage falls down and traps your partner, and you will need to kill the Base Majini to acquire the Crane Keycard in order to lift the cage using the crane control panel. It is possible to prevent this from occurring however, and that is to kill the Base Majini on the topmost platform of the crane before entering this area.
