Weapons

A balanced weapon with average performance.

M92F

This is the most basic weapon in the game. It has a higher base damage than the PC356 (which you should unlock after the first few chapters of the game). But its drawback is fewer slots. Although the lower slots may seem like a disadvantage, it's actually not - your best Custom Parts are best used on Jill's weaponry. This weapon uses Handgun Ammo.

A balanced weapon with average performance.

PC356

The PC356 will probably be the first weapon you unlock in the game. It's similar to the M92F but can be modified with more Custom Parts. This weapon is not much use on your first playthrough, but it becomes more useful when starting a game on Infernal Mode. To ensure each handgun bullet inflicts the most damage, make use of Custom Parts. This weapon uses Handgun Ammo.

A balanced weapon with average performance.

Government

The Government is a fantastic pistol and arguably the best handgun in the game (next to the G18). It has the highest damage potential. This weapon uses Handgun Ammo.

A balanced weapon with average performance.

G18

The G18 is a great pistol to use if you typically dislike using handgun. Handguns can be difficult to aim for successful headshots. The G18 is fully automatic, which allows you to effectively use your ammo like a machine gun. This weapon uses Handgun Ammo.

Fires multiple bullets at once.

Windham

The Windham is the main shotgun in the campaign. You won't have access to the M3 until very late in your first playthrough, and the Hydra can't be used until your second playthrough. The Windham is certainly a capable weapon. Its short (4-round) capacity is its biggest weakness. Correct this by using one of its slots to install a Long Magazine Custom Part. This weapon uses Shotgun Shells.

Fires multiple bullets at once.

M3

The M3 fires significantly faster than the Windham and is a bit more versatile with more slots and higher base round capacity. This weapon uses Shotgun Shells.

Fires more bullets than a normal shotgun.

Hydra

The Hydra is a fantastic shotgun and a great reward to use in your second playthrough. It has fantastic knock-back that can keep enemies at even on the highest difficulty level. This weapon uses Shotgun Shells.

Specialized for rapid firing.

MP5

The MP5 is Jill's mainstay submachinegun once you have acquired it. However, since ammunition is so important in the game, reserve the MP5 once you acquire it and switch over to the AUG. This weapon uses Machine Gun Ammo.

Specialized for rapid firing.

P90

The P90 is usable only ni the Terragrigia flashback levels. It's vital that you fire it in bursts to increase accuracy and avoid blowing through your ammunition. This weapon uses Machine Gun Ammo.

Has piercing ability plus a wide hit-zone.

AUG

The AUG is an excellent machine gun and should be your primary weapon for extremely tough situations. The weapon's high accuracy, damage, and firing speed make it ideal for difficult fights. Unfortunately, available ammunition is very limited, so reserve this weapon for intense battles. This weapon uses Machine Gun Ammo.

Has piercing ability plus a wide hit-zone.

G36

The G36 is similar to the AUG. When you gain access to this assault rifle, try switching between the two to see which one you prefer. This weapon uses Machine Gun Ammo.

Provides a scope for long-range precision, piercing, and high critical hits.

M40A1

You must make a side trek in Episode 3 to obtain the M40A1, but it is worth the time. If you aren't seeking Handprints, this is the only rifle available in the single-player campaign. The firing speed is slow, but it can be used to pick off enemies before they are even aware of your presence. This weapon uses Rifle Ammo.

Provides a scope for long-range precision, piercing, and high critical hits.

PSG1

The PSG1 offers significantly less damage than the M40A1, but it fires at a much quicker rate and accepts more Custom Parts. This weapon uses Rifle Ammo.

A weapon at the top of its class when it comes to power.

Python

The Python is the better of the two magnums due to its higher damage. A high base rate of fire for the weapon is unnecessary, since it has such powerful knock-back. However, the Python is harder to find in the campaign playthrough than the L. Hawk. This weapon uses Magnum Ammo.

A weapon at the top of its class when it comes to power.

L. Hawk

The L. Hawk is not as effective as the Python. But if you missed the Python earlier in the game, the L. Hawk makes a suitable replacement. This weapon uses Magnum Ammo.

A powerful rocket launcher. The fire once and throw away type.

Rocket Launcher

The Rocket Launcher is an uncommon item in the campaign. However, these weapons are fantastic against bosses, so save them in the Weapon Box for when you need them most. Each Rocket Launcher comes with just one rocket.

A destructive hand-thrown explosive. Works well on clusters of enemies.

Hand Grenade

This grenade is the base explosive weapon and found commonly throughout the game. Grenades inflict a fair amount of damage and are particularly effective against large groups of medium-sized monsters.

A hand grenade that releases a high-voltage electric shock.

Shock Grenade

This grenade inflicts special electrical damage that is particularly effective against aquatic creatures. This is the only weapon that can be used underwater.

A timer based explosive that attracts creatures by using high frequencies.

B.O.W. Decoy

When you toss one of these grenades it blinks for a few seconds, drawing nearby B.O.W.s in close. After it stops blinking and beeping, it explodes, inflicting light damage on any nearby enemies.

Delivers a high-frequency pulse, causing temporary paralysis.

Pulse Grenade

This grenade is a special sonic grenade that can stun nearby enemies. This paralysis is excellent for stopping monsters long enough to run by or to line them up for a charged melee shot.
