Item location variations (Resident Evil 3: Nemesis)

This section lists all the places where items can appear in either a randomised way, or where items can change locations based on choices you make.

#1 - Police station shotgun shells

When you explore the police station you will find the shotgun shells in either the small side office inside the west office, or on the mantelpiece in the back area inside the operations room.

It's worth noting that the arrangement of the zombies you encounter inside the west office directly correlates to the placement of these shotgun shells. If the zombies are all piled inside the small office then the shells will also appear in the small office. If the zombies are scattered across the room then the shells will be in the operations room.

#2 - Police station red herbs

When you explore the police station you will find red herbs in either the 1F winding corridor or the 2F office corridor.

#3 - Magnum and grenade launcher locations

The locations where you find the magnum and the grenade launcher can differ on each playthrough. There is a 50% chance you will find the magnum in either the S.T.A.R.S. office or in the sub station, and depending on where you do find it, you will always find the grenade launcher in the opposite location.

#4 - Uptown/downtown green herbs

#5 - Restaurant/press office emerald

The location of the emerald will depend entirely on where you first encounter Carlos. If you find him in the press office then the emerald will be in the restaurant basement. If you encounter him in the restaurant then the emerald will be in the press office.

#10 - Cable car flame rounds

Upon using the last piece of equipment needed to restore the cable car back to working order, Carlos will enter the carriage. If you encountered Carlos as the gas station then he will give you these flame rounds. If you instead encountered Carlos at the sales office you will receive nothing from him.

#11 - Clock tower winder/bezel keys

There are two important keys that are used within the clock tower when you first arrive, but depending on your starting point they will be in different locations:

  • If you chose to jump out of the cable car window during the live selection, then the winder key will be located in the bedroom and the bezel key will be located in the chapel.
  • If you chose to not jump out of the cable car window during the live selection, then the winder key will be located in the chapel and the bezel key will be located in the bedroom.

#12 - Clock tower freeze rounds

When you first explore the small library, if you did not jump out of the cable car window then you will find Carlos here, and he will give you these freeze rounds. If you did jump out of the cable car window then Carlos will not appear here.

#16 - Hospital 4F entry hallway/B3 basement hallway explosives

When you explore the hospital, if you visit the fourth floor entry hallway first then an explosive wall charge will appear in the basement hallway. If you do things the opposite way round and visit the basement hallway first then the explosive wall charge will appear in the fourth floor entry hallway instead.

#17 - Hospital 4F data room/B3 basement storeroom explosives

When you explore the hospital, depending on where you encounter Tyrell will determine where an explosive wall charge will appear. If you trigger the cut-scene with you encountering Tyrell inside the data room on the fourth floor, next time you visit the basement storeroom you will find that an explosive wall charge will have appeared in the north east corner (even if you visited it beforehand and seen that it was empty). Similarly, if you do the opposite and meet Tyrell in the basement storeroom, then a wall charge will appear in the fourth floor data room.

#18 - Hospital green herbs
